I Have A Pair!

Hi, I have a pair of the Dayton 10 inch series 2 speakers you are wondering about. I love mine! I've had them for several years now and have really pushed and enjoyed them. I think you will like them also. They are built heavy duty, fairly efficient and sound good. Plus you get 5 years of warranty to boot! They have rubber surrounds and massive built spiders and baskets. Don't let the stamped steel basket fool you!!! It's the most heavy duty steel basket I've ever seen on a speaker (especially for a 10 inch). The build quality will surprise you. Only gripe I have is the speaker terminals they used. I would have used better screw-on types. I used mine in ported cabinets at first and liked them a lot. Then later on I put them into some old Infinity cabinets that one woofer went bad in. These are sealed. They sound good in the sealed boxes but I prefer them in ported. That's just my taste though. They have tight, low bass that's controlled (sealed). Even in the ported boxes they were tight sounding. I'm pretty sure I got a F3 of about 40-45 hz in the ported boxes. They are rated at 250 watts rms and that is reasonable. I know I've played them through several setups I've had in the past with nothing smaller than 50 watts per channel. The biggest amp I pushed them with was a Yamaha P2700 pro amp. It's rated at 350 watts rms per channel @ 8 ohms. That was the best sound I got out of them of course... By the way, another unusual thing about these is the huge dust cap they have. They are about 5 inches in diameter and are made of some kind of "plastic" material. Just look unusual because there isn't much cone material showing between the surround and dust cap, etc. Anyways, PM me if you have any other questions or whatever.
