DAYTONA SpeedWeeks Ready For Take Off

With the Rolex 24 in the books, Time to re-focus on what Speed Weeks is all about, Nascar/Sprint(Formerly Busch)/Nextel Cup Stock Car racing. Last weeks final day of testing showed Earnhardt Jr with the fastest single runs at 186mph. During interviews, He stated he's very happy with whats under the hood, And theres more in it. Also Gordon/Johnson were in the top 10. This is a very serious team, Who could place 1, 2, 3, If they stay out of the "Big one". Toyota showed big MPH's all though testing, Ford has work to do, And time is running out. The 50th Daytona 500 is in 12 days. Here's some scheduled must see stuff;

FEB 8th....Bud Shootout Practice
FEB 9th....Bud Shootout(Under the lights)
FEB 10th..Daytona 500 Qualifying(This sets the front row only)
FEB 13th..Nextel/Sprint Cup practice
FEB 14th..Gatorade Duels, Races 1 and 2(60 laps, 150 miles). Will decide
positions 3 thru 43.
FEB 15th..Truck series Chevy Silverado 250
FEB 16th..Daytona 500 final practice
Sprint Cup Camping World 300
FEB 17th..50th Daytona 500

Got tickets for both PHX races as well as Vegas. I really need to make at least one Daytona just for all the spectacle.
Restrictor plate races are otherwise not my bag. Too much droning around in a pack. Not enough racing.

rickr, I go to both PHX races every year,April nite race takin' 2 virgins, my 8yr old nephew and my baby sis,gonna be a blast for sure.
This was the year to go to 'Tona,anniversary and all, party in the motor coach area, watch on TV w/live sound effects, then walk up the top of the grandstands and watch the last 5 laps, always reminds me of speed skating as they jockey around and everything changes every second in the dash for the flag, Mark should have won last year, Classy guy from day 1:yes::thmbsp::thmbsp:
