DCM owners: A source for replacement Audax tweeters

Hey all, if you have one of the Audax tweeted DCM's, I finally found a source for replacement tweets (NOT ME, no affiliation). These are the new(ish) Tang Band silk dome tweeters, drop-in replacements for the original Audax drivers. Unfortunately they have become unobtanium, despite being in production until recently. Apparently, these are the "approved" replacements, recommended by Steve Eberbach. The original mylar tweeters can get harsh and break up, evidently these are much smoother.

There is a gentleman on Ebay with over 100 for sale. I just bought 6 for my TF-600's, and the price was right. Search for this: "tang band 13-1264s". The guy is in Iowa.

MODS: This seems like the best place to post this, but if it's in the wrong place I'm cool with it being moved or whatever. :yes:

At $3.65 each those are really a pretty good deal, but I can't justify spending $525 for these right now. If I had the extra do ra mi I'd buy 'em and sell them a few at a time to fellow forumites who need them for their DCM repairs.

Unfortunately, I just got hit with homeowner's insurance (my rates went up, of course) and I'm going to buy a table saw and router to get started on some DIY speaker projects.

Very good info. I presume it would be best to put the new ones in the front and keep the old good ones in the rear, or should that be the other way around?

I'd buy all new ones.

Tip: Buy a few extras as spares as these things blow like Cleopatra.
