Those vandy 1s seem steep - I paid about that price for my 2CEs and 2CIs WITH sound Anchor stands and boxes ... and got an audition!

The TF-600s seems like a fair price - good shape and lower price is always good, of course ...

Vandys

I see this often when people are selling Vandys- they don't list which version as it's not plainly marked on the back plate. First, ask the seller if they include the bases. Then ask him (or her) to look at the serial number to see if it has a letter suffix. If no suffix or if it is a "B" then these are an older version and are priced a bit high. If the "C" version then they are priced quite fairly as a new pair are $1,149 plus another $125 for the bases. When the 1C originally came on the market they were $850 and were considered quite the bargain. Also, there is support available should you ever have driver or x-over issues- not so with the DCMs. In the past I have owned the Vandy 2Ci and 3A - anything they make are some of the best available at their price points (and often well above).

The price on the TF is at the top end of what I have been seeing. I agree with nolasally- 150 would be more in order.

Can't speak to the Vandy's. Never had a pair but would like to someday.

I saw the TF-600's. I'm in the Raleigh area too. Thought about offering a pair of JBL towers for them but I already have 2 pairs of 600's!

I did notice that the badges on them are both on the right side. Could be that one was just stuck on the wrong side at some point, but I would make sure these are a mirrored pair as they are supposed to be. Could be two of the same speaker.

I am a fan of both DCM and Vandys and would lean toward Vandys. I have 2CEs and have owned 600s, TW1s, Macrophones. The 2CEs aren`t going anywhere soon.

I agree with a couple of the other posts. You really need to know whether the bases are included, and if they are 1C vintage or earlier. If they are 1C and include bases I would say the asking price is within a reasonable range. I own 2Ce Signature speakers and am very pleased with the sound, build quality and bang-for-the-buck.

Good luck!

Good catch.
I recently sold a pair of TF600s that were both left sides. It made absolutely no difference in the sound, but for a fanatic, I couldn't live without the symmetry.

FWIW, I sold mine for $80 to another AK member.
