DCM time frame 400

High unless they've been restored. The woofers will need new surrounds, and the small tweeters may not all have survived. Also, working on them involves taking down the socks, which will likely mess up the acoustic foam applied to the cabs....

They sound great when fixed-up though.

The price is reasonable if all of it is functioning. They are a great speaker. They have fuse/lamps on the crossover that protect the tweeter. I got a pair for $35 but they did not sound full range. The issue was the fuse/lamp. Check them out. Working, you would never be displeased. BTW, the surrounds are butyl rubber and are probably fine. The TF-350 and below had foam surrounds.

You've refreshed my memory on the butyl surrounds. It was tweeters that were the problem on the set I had, despite the protection.

The 400 is worth about that amount in my area. The DCM's tend to have regional value fluctuations, so North Texas value may not be spot on for other areas, FYI. I've also found the 600's to bring $150-$200, and the 1000's to bring roughly $200-$300. It's a shame they aren't valued better... they are nice speakers! I tried selling my TF1000's for a while, and eventually just traded them for some a/d/s L710's to a fellow AKer. I had room for the 710's, but not the 1000's.
