Dcm time frame vs time windows

Hello DCM fans, I regret that I let my original time windows go years ago. they just had a certain something I really miss! I picked up a really nice clean pair of tf 600 s the rear tweeters on one speaker were not working one of them was shot and since the rear tweeters share a common ground the bad one with no continuity forced both to stop working. I replaced the bad tweeter with a replacement from madisound and presto all good! Anyway I like the tf 600s they do some things very well great big sound stage and what I think is super nice tight powerfull bass . maybe it's just my fond memories but as good as they are they just don't have that certain something the time windows have. I know it's an entirely different cabinet the 6 1/2 s look similar the tweeters are definitely different . so ,ANYONE here with fond time windows memories and time with the tf's . thanks!

I have had or worked on TF 600's, 700's & 1000's, Time Windows 1 & 3 too. Out of all of them the TW3's were the superior product by a mile.
One caveat to note, the tend to blow tweeters as the ferro fluid dries out over time, Fortunately SEAS make an excellent .75", 4 ohm drop in ( with a little bit of modification to mounting). I put the SEAS tweeters in a set of TW 3's and was blown away at their capabilities and superior sound.
To be fair, however, I had four of the TF 700's in my last surround sound set up and was very impressed on how well they performed in that setting! For stereo use- the TW 3's are the best.

I have both TW1s (two pair) and one, formerly three pair of TF -600s. They both have their strengths and weaknesses IMO. The TFs have better bass extension, and very nice imaging. The TWs have less bass and better imaging. In my last house I had a "snoring" or doghouse bedroom where I used to sleep. I had a Pioneer SX-1250 hooked up to both sets of TW1s, one in each corner of the room. I'd set the audio timer and drift off to sleep on a beautiful cloud of imaged sound....

DC is livin my audio life (void of the 1Ks).

Agreed, the 3's had it allll day. More refined sound. Better seperate on of freqs. More mature sound.

The snoring doghouse room cracked me up! I too am occasionally sent to the snoring room.LOL!
That setup in there must have been exquisite!

I have early TW's serial numbers in the 2500 stamped in the bottom, they sound very good.
