I have heard back from the seller and pending the outcome of tomorrow's audition, they will be following me home! He seems to be genuinely grateful to not have to put them on eBay and deal with shipping. I doubt that they will displace the Dahlquist DQ-30's (that I have yet to pick up from Beemer), but I feel they will be a good investment and I plan to enjoy them in my office for the time being. The KG-4's currently serving duty at my office will be sent to storage, at least for now.

KG-4's and TW's and DQ-30s? Those don't even seem to be from the same planet.

I'm a midrange freak so the DQ's would come out first then TW's then the Klipsch in that comparison.

Spoiler alert: the only TF that have a shot at the 3's or 7's would be the TF-2000. I've only seen one set of those...

True enough. The DQ's will server main duty in my home listening room. The TW's will be going to my office to displace the KG-4's. I will offer the KG-4's to my son, but I doubt he will give up his EPI 100's in favor of them. Totally different animals.

The Time Window 3's are mine! I went to the seller's to audition them. He had them set up in his garage connected to a Hafler DH-110 preamp and DH-220 amp. Even in that less than ideal environment, they sounded absolutely amazing. The top end seemed to sparkle a bit too much, but that may have been due to the overly live acoustics. Wonderful midrange and full, warm, yet not bloated bass. And they presented a lusciously 3-dimensional soundstage. Just stunning. I'd give their cosmetics a 9+ out of 10 mainly due to a slight crack (along the grain) in one bottom plate. I'm certain any decent cabinet maker could correct it. The grills are absolutely perfect. No holes, pills or snags. Serial numbers 003098 & 003099. Pictures will follow getting them set up and a little Howard's Feed & Wax.

dave I am glad you enjoy the new speakers. I have no doubts they would blow my TF 700 out of the water.
I will keep looking for a TW 3. Ther is one TW 1 for sale but i think I will await the next 3...even if it will take a long time.
 
Nicely done, Dave. I woulda but they were a lot further away. If they are better than the TW1 as folks say, the 3 is one speaker I'd like to have.

Gah. $120 is a fair price for some ratty Timewondow 1s molested by cat claws.

$120 for Timewondow threes is an excellent bargain. They start usually at about three times that and sometimes get even more pricey- lots more.


Congrats on a rare set of speakers at a great price!
 
Well, it seems that DCM TW is not the best known speaker. One pair of 1s just sold for $76 on e-bay. They were local pick only though. Still someone got a nicepair for little money.
