They’re nice. I age great but the bass in TL speakers always seems defuse to me.

That's the trade off. Wide sound image at the cost of some accuracy down low. Considering the size of the drivers, though, I think the transmission line works pretty well.

Bass is much better when defused. Who in the hell wants "BOOM,BOOM, RATTLE,RATTLE" exaggerated phony cheap car stereo bass? It sounds like absolute ****.

I own 400's and 600's. I also like defused bass but they still lack in that department IMO. I've used them most in an A+B config.

They certainly don't command that kind of money in the secondary market. Even half that is a stretch.
 
A speaker that sold for 1100 a pair in 88 and he wants 800 for em? Are they NEW, do they come with a warranty? That is new, on sale pricing. Unless these are a very highly desired speaker (LS3/5a and some others) they are just way overpriced.
