DCM TimeFrame 700's in original boxes..

$300 at local pawn shop.

Worth it? I have owned the DCM CX series before (including currently owning a pair of CX-17s) but never the Time Frame series although I have heard good things. I tested them briefly in the shop and they seemed to function fine.

That's not a huge "score" price...but damn fair for a really super pair of speakers. If they're in good working order I'd say go for it

Truthfully I'm only buying them if I feel like I'm getting a real deal. If this price is just "OK" and they won't budge on it I'll probably pass.

Where are you located? What condition were they in?

I would pass at that price. I bought and later re-sold a pair of 700's for the same $75. At best their sound is ok and that's only until they get compared to something else.

Those sound great. Sold mine for $250 8 years ago with no boxes.

I just picked up a pair for $60...one of the surrounds had separated from the woofer basket (basically tore away) even though they are rubber. I had a 8 inch foam surround lying around and refoamed it. Sounds pretty good. Offer them $100...it is a pawn shop...if they decline go to $150. These are pretty good speakers.

You can wait around eventually for a score but you know how that goes. I would not pay more than $150 or $200 unless they are in mint shape.

Mr. Jim they are in NW Arkansas where I live (Bentonville, home of Wal-Mart headquarters.)

Icenine thanks for the suggestion..I've had plenty of experience with pawn shops and offering 1/3 of what they are asking, even if you can point out something wrong with the item (which I can't in this case) will get you thrown out.

I've had a pair for several years and they sound great but I wouldn't pay $300 for them either. Boxes don't add much value for me unless I plan on selling and shipping them.
