Not wanting to reinvent the wheel…..
Has anyone done any analysis of how the bass loading works on the DCM TimeFrame series?
Their bass response is well liked and they were semi mass produced.
It was called a “transmission line” but isn’t. It’s more of a mass loaded TQWT.
Steve Eberbach designed them in the 1980’s without the benefit of Martin King’s MathCad work.
I admit I have not used Mr. Kings sheets (I’ll get to it) so I don’t know if it is possible to input the specifications (woofer specs, cabinet dimensions) of a Time Frame and get an idea of what it is doing.
The other question is would it then be possible to tweek a Time Frame (port length, stuffing, etc) so it could be as good as possible without changing its essential nature?
I’m not talking about changing the crossover or drivers, just the bass loading of the cabinet.
Make some use of MathCad Mr. Eberbach didn’t have.
If this has been discussed elsewhere, please point me in the right direction.
Thanks
Attached is a picture I found illustrating the interior arrangement.
