Decisions...decisions...

I recently purchased a Yamaha RX-V870 receiver for a VERY cheap price ($12 CAD). After hooking up my Reference Audio R50S - 100 watt bookshelves and Yamaha YST-SW45 subwoofer, I think it's time to look around and upgrade my speakers.

I'm primarily going to be using the receiver for music. Records in particular. I have a Pioneer PL-255 turntable hooked up to it directly through the phono input. As well as 2 Technics 1200 turntables going into a 4 channel Numark mixer (which I will eventually upgrade as well). The setup will be put into a very small room that's quite packed with a full wall (floor to ceiling) of records, a desk, and a self-built counter that holds my equipment. No sitting space other than my desk chair.

I'm looking at spending up to a couple hundred dollars on speakers. Here are used speakers that I'm currently considering...

* Paradigm Phantom v1 for $35...yes $35
* Polk Audio R150 for $100 - barely used
* PSB 50MKII for $125
* Klipsch KSB 2.1 for $125
* Paradigm 7se mk2 for $200
* KEF Q100 for $200
* Polk Audio RTI A1 for $200
* PSB Alpha B1 for $100
* Mission 772 for $150

Are any of these a much better upgrade considering what they're being sold for? Or, should I continue to keep a lookout? I'm not in a huge rush to upgrade.

to me the phantom is the best buy
they sound good and will never need refoaming

i think the 7se is the best sounding of that series, the 9 and 11 start getting dark to me
i have a couple pairs of kef, not the ones your looking at, but i would definitely give those a listen

Thanks for your input. I am leaning more towards the 7se but they maybe a bit much for the current room. However, the speakers may not stay in there forever.

I would favor the PSB Alpha B1 or the KEF Q100

I'm really liking the coaxed driver design on the KEF's.
