So I am about to purchase a Parasound HCA-1500A amp that I have found at a good price. Right now I have a BK ST2140 amp that I feel sound great. According to both amps, both utilize a class A predriver but the Parasound uses a JFET cascade configuration wither as BK does not give say for unknown reasons. Both utilize MOSFET output stage but Parasound has a high bias A A/B. My question is, based on experience, would be the better amp? Should I stay with the BK or get the Parasound? My current system is in my sig.

Buy the Para, play it, compare to your current BK.
Sell the one you like less, or keep them both
You will make yourself crazy and broke if you keep focusing on spec’s and design differences. All that gobbledygook pales in comparison to your own ears.
Don’t worry, be pragmatic.

Not necessarily. Although the concept of an amp is the same, the difference in performance can vary, wither on paper or sonically.

Specs are great for comparisons, but tell you nothing about how a piece is going to sound with the rest of YOUR gear, and tells you even less about whether or not YOU will like it. That said, I DO think the Parasound is a better amp than the B&K. But, YOUR opinion is the only one that matters. If you can audition the Parasound, you'll be in a better position to determine which works best for you...
