Dell to Macbook Dac Hookup

Hi folks, trying to hookup my Modi 5 from my Dell to a newer MacBook Pro. The cable is different as the Mac takes USB 3 and the Dell has something different. Can I. take a USB 3 and go from the DAC to the Laptop and whee do I hook it up? There are 4 inputs and a headphone jack. Not sure I,m asking all this correctly. The Dell is. 15years old and time to go. I just want to run the DAC to the laptop.Thanks for you help. Al

Your thread title and post are kind of confusing, if I'm reading this correctly you now want to just run the Modi to your MBP?

If so looks like you will want to use USB-C from MBP into Modi and then RCA into I'm assuming Receiver, Amp or Pre-Amp

Yes. You just need a USB-C to USB-C cable (I assume your Mac only has USB-C ports that support Thunderbolt 3/4 and USB 3).

The Modi 5 is actually only USB 2, but has a USB-C connector, but that's because the connectors are independent of the protocols (USB-3 can run over USB-A, for example). USB as a standard is utterly confusing.
