Denafrips Hestia/Hades/Thallo Thread

I wanted to start this thread for people, like myself, interested in the amplifier offerings from Denafrips, mainly the Thallo power amplifier stacked with either the older Hestia pre-amplifier or the new Hades pre-amplifier.

I have had the Hestia for about a year, and had it paired with the Schiit Aegir power amplifier. The Aegir is a sweet little amp, but I got the itch to take advantage of a full balanced connection from my Denafrips Pontus >> Hestia>>Thallo. I decided on the Thallo rather than the Hyperion because of the increased dynamics and punch it would probably provide, even though the Hyperion was powerful enough for my speakers, from a strict wattage perspective.

Recently Denafrips came out with the Hades as an upgrade to the Hestia, and I am interested in differences between them, and whether it might be worth the upgrade or not. I'm hoping there are others on this forum are interested in these issues and will put in their two cents.

. Information I got is that the Hades has:

- Beefed up with an 80VA O-Core transformer
- Improved low noise linear power supply
- Precision matched through-hole resistors

The comment on the sonic difference was as follows: "a greater sense of realism, better extension in treble (perceived more details). In the mid/bass region, it's also performing better compared to the Hestia."
