I have always been a fan of the old Denon stuff with the big meters
Recently I saw an auction for a rare POA-3000 come and go. At $2000 it was well out of my league.
A few days later I noticed that a pair of much rarer POA-8000 mono blocks was available in Berlin, Germany, only to find later that day that a matching PRA-6000 pre-amp is for sale right now in NYC. This pre-amp is ueber, hyper, ultra rare!
Now with availability of the POA-8000 and PRA-6000 confirmed, all that's between me and my wildest Denon dreams are about US$14,000. Guess I'll have to wait until they show up at my local Goodwill
This POA-3000 went for $2000.
The seller included an image of his gorgeous system, but only the POA-3000 seemed to be for sale.
Denon POA-8000 mono blocks. Few sold outside of Japan, and not common in Japan either. Asking price for this pair Euro 7,999; about US$11,000.
This PRA-6000 pre amp is the rarest of the lot. Asking price US$2,500.
