Denon Build

I'm putting together some equipment from the past! All Denon.. TU800 Tuner. De-70 Equalizer. DAP2500 preamp. POA2400 amplifier and POA2200 amplifier. My Question is I have a second DAP2500 preamp. What will I gain or lose by using the second preamp??? Thinking about the THD level over all . Just wondering if it's over kill!! Thanks for your input.

If you take the tape out of preamp 1 into preamp 2, aux, tuner, tape input doesn't matter you can then take preamp 1out and preamp 2 out and go to the two amps.

What you have gained is individual volume control of each power amp. What you have lost is one volume control to handle the whole system.

It is possible to set it up so that one preamp controls the volume using both preamps but it is not safe as an operator error could cause loud, possibly damaging, volume issues.

There will be more distortion using two preamps, but not many folks in the world could gear that.

Just use one and enjoy.

You will “gain” needless complexity. Use one preamp and one of the amplifiers; keep the others as back up or simply build a second system with different speakers for another sonic flavor. All nice gear BTW.
