i'm going in the morning to pick up a group of Denon pieces.

DCD 1100 CD

Worth it for the amp alone, and it has very cool meters. The other pieces are all very decent, and the preamp will likely have a killer phono section. Looks like one of their better cassette decks, with auto bias & level setting, dual Capistans, 3 heads, and B and C Dolby NR.

Only drawback is that half are gold and half are black.

But they're all SCROE!

Congrats!!
I think you will be very happy with that system.
Post some pics when you get it set-up.

Thanks- i'know in a few hours but i'm always leary of the parking lot buys.
life is like a box of circuit boards-ya never know what your gonna get!

no use for the cassette deck and from what i've read the tuners pretty lame.
CD might be o.k.- anyone have an opinon on it?

really it's the amp and pre i'm excited about.

The deck is extremely nice. 3 head and a nice reliable machine. I owned one for 6 years with no issues. The tuner is so so. Definitely not the TU-800. The CD player is old tech. If you wanted a better one that somewhat maintains the vintage Denon look find a DCD-1560- still older but has a sweet sound. They were great! I had one with my 44hx. POA-1500 and PRA-1000 and DRM-44HX are the scores. Sell the other two.

settled on 125.00 due to a few minor cosmetic issues.
phono section has issues within the pre-amp.

the POA-1500 protective circuit engages when using the phone section.
any ideas?
i suppose i'll need to move over to another section but thought i'd ask here first.
