Denon DCD-2560 CD Player with issues. Any suggestions?

I acquired a Denon DCD-2560 CD player this afternoon. The unit powers on, but the CD tray immediately pops out and will not retract. On top of that, the spindle is spinning non-stop. I have no idea where to start, but I would like to make this unit functional again.
