I recently purchased this Denon turntable and had no issues with it until yesterday. I put on an album, and my speakers started distorting something awful. I played several different records, and the same thing occurred. I checked to make sure the phono preamp was in the OFF position, and it was. In fact, it had been in that position since I bought the TT a month ago.
I then played several CD's, and they sounded great. No distortion at all.
I've checked all my connections, looked at the stylus, and everything is good. I don't know what could be causing the distortion considering all my records sounded fine up until yesterday.
My equipment:
Yamaha R-V502 receiver
Sony CDP-491 compact disc player
Pioneer Andrew Jones FS-52 speakers
Thanks for any suggestions!
Craig
