Denon dp 47f tracking force issue

hello everyone, my denon dp 47f has an issue where when I level the arm to float, and set the tracking force dial, when I play a record it tracks way too light and skips across the record. However, if I move the counter weight forward enough, it will track completely fine and sound ok, except for a lot of sibilance. I have tried adjusting vr5, the variable resistor that's supposed to control tracking force, and it does absolutely nothing. The cartridge is perfectly aligned and brand new. Any help is appreciated thank you

As a short term solution, try using a cheap digital scale to measure the tracking force instead and see how that works for you.

You can get dead-accurate ones on Amazon for under $15.

I've bought one and I will do that I'm just worried about what the antiskate would be and if it would damage my records. I would think that as long as it sounds good, the anti skate is fine but I want to make sure it isn't damaging my records
