Denon Dp-47f upgrade path.

So I just got a mint 47f in perfect working order. With a grado zf1 w/blue stylus . I have a marantz AVR-7013 and klispch RP-280f . My question would be should I replace first. the grado cartridge? or because I use the phono built in preamp on the marantz replace that first ?

Also how good is the denon dp-47f ? Coming from a SL-1200 mk3d that was really heavy and solid .The Denon is light and hollow-ish or feels that way.

The servo controlled damping is fantastic on these and their JVC cousins. One of the big pluses to the servo damping is you can run nearly any cartridge with good results without worrying (as much) about matching the cart to the tonearm. My JVC had a Grado XF3 with an OEM stylus on it when I got it, which sounded great, but I replaced it with an AT 530 nude elliptical which seems to have a little more space/separation, though the Grado may be a bit more dynamic. Anyway, with these decks I think experimentation is warranted to find the sound you're after.
