Denon dp-52f

Hello All:

There is a mint DENON DP-52F available locally. I would be buying more for the wife than me as she likes the fully automatic variety. What is a fair price to pay for a mint one with no cartridge or manual? Is this a decent deck? Thanks for any advice.

Yes, it's a good quality turntable. Most Denon turntables are very high quality, and while this wasn't their most expensive model, it was excellent, and came with a good quality electronically damped tonearm which is better than most.

I'll chime in to say I just bought a very good condition Denon 23f for $100 in the LA area. Did I overpay? I suspect I may have. Maybe could have saved 25 or 30 or so bucks. But the table was local and it's a gift for a friend who's in need of this sort of table. And, I have to say after getting it set up and into my system for a few days I'm pleasantly impressed by its performance. And there is something to be said for the all automatic controls. The 23f is definitely down the food chain from the 52f, which looks like quite an attractive turntable. Sorry I don't have any genuine idea of what these tts are going for. I suppose a lot depends on where you are, and what else is out there on the market. I must say, it's awfully nice to have a wife who's interested. I'm fortunate that mine is too. btw, here's another link to info about that table.

Gene, if your wife is into playing vinyl she will absolutely love that DP-52F both musically and aesthetically. I have had one for about three years and it is a stunning performer with a Ortofon OM-30 cartridge on it. The only reason I have it set aside currently is the controls are on the outside and I have a toddler who likes to flip buttons and switches, otherwise I would still have it set up in my main system. It operates very quietly and smoothly and even the lid had a nice feel to it when closing. My Yammy DP-Y71 has a heavy cover if dropped down echoes through the system a bit, though the controls are under the lid.

I did manage to get ahold of a mint DP-790 a year ago with a Grado Black and while it is also a top notch table, it is fully manual and I also like at least an auto-stop feature. Both tables have similar specs, but sonically one would be hard-pressed to find a distiction. :music: As for price, w/o a cart perhaps around $150 would still be a good deal.
