Denon DP-60L v Sony PS-LX3

Both Nagaoka & Sumiko offer good MM cartridges. Grado is another choice. They offer MI (moving iron), which, like an MM, has a high output. As always, the more you spend the better they get. I'm pleased with my Nagaoka MP-200.
 
I think I’m going with the Sumiko Pearl for the S arm. I’ve read some good reviews. Any reservations on that cartridge?
 
I hooked the new turntable up and, right now, I have concerns. There is a very low hum coming from the speakers on the unit is plugged in, even if it is turned off. This is not the case with my Sony. Thoughts on the cause?
