Thanks for all the fish!
Hello all,
My Denon receiver has issues with the function (input switching) switches not selecting correctly.
The front panel display shows whichever switch I've activated (e.g. select Video, Video displayed) but I need to keep pressing buttons until an audio source is heard, independent of the input selected, even the onboard tuner, and, when audio is heard it doesn't necessarily align with what's displayed e.g. AM frequency displayed, tape deck's audio output to speakers.
Now I'm currently thinking that the surface mount switches (photos below) activated by front panel buttons are a bit dirty and I wanted to apply some DeOxit.
So the question at this stage is what's the best way to apply it to these switches.
I have both aerosol and concentrated forms of DeOxit if that helps inform a procedure.
If, however, there is someone who has come across a similar fault and knows I'm barking up the wrong tree, I'd be glad to hear from you too.
Cheers,
Les
