Denon DVD-3910 Distortion

Hello all, I have been having problems with my recent find, A Denon DVD 3910. Even after cleaning the lens, each format has been having various degrees of distortion on playback, the worst being dvd-audio. Is there any way that could be remedied?

Both channels or just one?

Do you have a DAC so you could verify that digital output is OK?

Both channels. I forgot about the digital output, will check that tonight

Just checked the digital output, working loud and clear, so the problem is on the DAC board in the CD player. Would the dacs themselves be causing the problem that I am experiencing?

That’s hard to say - seems like it could the the analog stage after the DAC too. If you can see all the boards, you can look for any components that don’t look right, but that’s a long shot for it to be clearly visible,

Seems like the best thing would be to use a scope and trace the signal from DAC output to the analog outputs and see where the signalmgets corrupted,
