Hi,
Planning to recap my Denon HA-500 headamp while my Denon Zu 103 is in the soundsmith hospital.
Looking at the service manual, I can see a relatively small number of electrolytic caps. I suspect cap choice at this stage can make a huge difference, since you're amplifying a tiny signal from the MC cartridge into a much bigger one. I want to choose carefully.
Should I just stick with something basic like the Panasonic FC's? Other suggestions?
Also, are tantalum solid caps reliable? Should I just leave the few in there as-is or consider replacing?
Thanks,
David
