Denon receiver powers off and on randomly

I have a Denon DRA-325R receiver (from the late 80s or early 90s) which I have used off and on for many years, and which is currently hooked up to our Blu-ray player for better sound during movies and shows. It still works fine, except that it will sometimes "reset" itself, powering off and then immediately powering back on. It is like a full reset, because any preset stations are lost, and the input defaults back to Tuner, even if it wasn't before. The unit can go for a few days without this happening, and then one day it might happen twice or three times in a row.

I'm wondering if anyone has seen this kind of problem in this or any model of receiver, and if so, what kind of fix is required (if indeed it can be fixed). If the problem is with the power supply, I wonder if it has to do with having something plugged into the "switched" outlet in the back? (I have a small digital/analog converter plugged in there.)

Appreciate any help and advice!

might be a loose fuse . bad switch . bad solder joint . etc .
try without anything plugged into it and see if it plays up the same .

I know its been years since this was posted, but did you ever find a solution? I just purchased this unit on Craigslist with the exact same symptions. Sometimes it will run for hours with no issue, other times it will do the reset as your described.

Guess we'll never know. Original poster hasn't been on this forum since his only post.

Hi!
I have the same issue with an Denon DRA-335R.
It can work for hours and days, then suddenly shuts down, or switch the input
selector randomly.
What to look out for, anyone know?

Weird, I have a Samsung dvd player that turns itself ON by itself.
When I turn it off, within a few minutes it will turn itself on again.
Unit works great, I just keep it unplugged when not in use.
