Denon sl-7d (gt 700) direct drive turntable platter not spinning

See title. The motor makes some sort of grinding soundthat goes away if I spin the platter by hand. The motor seems to try and move the platter atleast a little bit but it's a very small amount. Any ideas on what the issue could be ?
