Denon Tonearm

Does anyone know what Denon tonearm this is? Does it have a specific name/number?
I was thinking of replacing a Micro Seiki MA-707 on a DQ-3 with this if it'll swap.
It's in fantastic shape and I really would like to try it out.
So far I have not found info for this.

Are you sure it's not just a Denon headshell?

Disclaimer - I know nothing about tone arms. Just curious because I bought a Pioneer TT a while ago and it had a Technics headshell on it.

Hey there,

The information on the Denon Tonearms listed below can be found at
www.vinylengine.com. It's easy to become a member and they have
great information on TT's, tonearms and carts.

Just go to Library....then to Denon and you'll see this list.
Hope you find it there.

I did look over on Vinylengine but didn't see it. But....
Daninmal could be right. I bought this a couple of years ago and it was represented as a Denon.
Oh God....scammed again!
Seriously tho, if anyone knows enlighten me cause it appears to be nice.

Please don't listen to me! It was just a question. I'm sure you have a Denon tonearm. Now the guru's on here need to help you find out which one you have.

But you've brought up a very good point. Headshells come and go so indeed it may be some other tonearm with a Denon headshell because I haven't seen anything like it on vinylengine under Denon.
It does have a DIN plug but I don't know if any Pioneer tables had this feature. The Pioneers I've had in the past didn't.
Perhaps a guru will pass by.......;0)

I believe it's the stock denon tonearm for the DP-1800. Another member here on Audiokarma has posted a photo of it

That is the one, case closed.
I tapped up the model number on VE and there wasn't any listed info on the table or arm but I haven't looked thru the forum topics yet.

Very much thanks guys!

Actually, it might also be off the DP-790, based on the google images of that. See http://www.vinylengine.com/library/denon/dp-790.shtml for info. Mind you, they could have used the same tonearm on several models!

The headshell looks like the 6g diecast magnesium alloy PCL-5 headshell, which was supplied as standard with quite a few of their tonearms and turntables, as well as being sold separately. One of the best universal headshells available, it’s very light and non-resonant. It was often used to upgrade the SME tonearms in the 1970’s and 80’s.

I had one once. It is Denons basic tonearm, It doesn't have a model # because it came on the Denon DP-1800 turntable. You can see the TT in Vinyl Engines Gallery. But there is no info on the arm itself.....
