DEPTH as in Width x Height x Depth

Recently started my foray into old audio stuff, and have fallen absolutely in love with an SX-780. Due to WAF (entertainment unit that was purchased prior to said foray) and a very narrow listening space that also doubles as a hallway (couch on one side, tv on the other, bikes and stuff getting walked through the middle, Philly rowhomes amirite!?), I'm in need of a shallower receiver than the Pioneer (I know, I know already kinda shallow). The Pioneer needs about 15" to live happily and not take a knee to the volume knob which has already been bent(by previous owner), I'm in need of something EVEN MORE uhh shallower...

So I've been combing Hifiengine which delightfully lists the dimensions of every model, and come across the Sansui 6060 which is less than the 780. While I'm not going to jump out and buy something at the conclusion of this thread, I'd like to keep a list of pieces to look out for that I may be able to get for a good price.

Factors
-45ish wpc, this is what the Pioneer is and I'd like something similar. Gonna be driving Boston Acoustics A150s if that helps.
-Less than 300mm(12ish inches) DEPTH
-70s or 80s
-positively regarded sound (ambiguous, I know, just don't want a boat anchor, willing to try anything)

Let me know if anyone has any input! The 780 will be relegated to a size friendly room(basement) in the house...

You might not find a receiver with those dimensions, but theres plenty of decent mini systems out there, Aurex, Aiwa, JVC A-M1, etc. I have a set of Luxkit (Luxman) mini seperates that are only a couple of inches deep, but the most powerful monoblocks in the series (A801) are only 35wpc into 8Ohms.
 
I feel your pain. My wife has these absolutely beautiful oak arts and crafts bookshelf units. Most of my amplifiers don't fit. Preamp didn't fit either. So, in a moment of creativity I scored an amp that fit, elevated the TV, and put the preamp underneath.

Depth is going to kill you.
 
The factory specs for the SX-780 indicate a depth of 12-5/8" deep. That is the enclosure only!
All of mine measure a depth of 14-3/4" from the back of a folded AM antenna to the front face of the tuning knob.

A Kenwood KR-4070 is about an inch less depth.
 
Thanks all for the input! I wish suspending from the ceiling would work lol. Yes we purchased the unit to fit a Yamaha v-rx373 and specs for the pioneer actually have it shallower than the Yamaha...

I've found that a few of the integrated amps without the tuner built in are a bit shallower, especially the Kenwood stuff. Gonna try and get my hands on a Kenwood KA-5500 but I'll try out the KR-4070 as well!
