Regained custody of my PS-103s from my now late ex. Foam is shot on woofers and midrange so I'm going to replace that. Both passed an ohmmeter test as well as a simple small signal sweep from my signal generator. Also, one tweeter is dead as a mackerel. That leads me to three questions:

* Which refoam kits to buy? I've looked a Simply Speakers which has a DA selection that includes the measurements of each kit. Liking them a lot.

* What is a good replacement tweeter? I know there isn't a snowball's chance of an exact replacement so I'll replace both of them. Not afraid to spend a little money as these were free speakers but I don't want to upgrade beyond the rest of the components.

* Any suggestions for grill cloth replacement? Cats managed to snag the original and I'm not sure how to recover that plastic stiffener.

My intention is drive these biamped with a Crown VFX-2 and PS-200 amplifiers also recently back in my custody.

BTW, is there a place to upload files? I have a schematic that factory service sent me years ago.

The refoam project went great. Really easy to do following the Simply Speakers videos.Their website made it easy to choose the correct kits so I purchased from them although there are lots of others that also supply the kits.

I also replaced the tweeter from Simply Speakers with their T-145 tweeters.The only issue was the mounting holes are a smidgen too small for the original DA screws but easily drilled out. They did not come with gaskets so save the old ones.

I did biamp the speakers as mentioned at the start of the thread. Everything sounds great. Very pleased with the results so far,

That still leaves grill cloth replacement. These speakers have a clear, perforated stiffener under the cloth that looks like it it my be tricky to align. Also, the top and bottom trimmed edge must be exact as there is no trim to hide the edge. I did find a source on Amazon for the black, double-sided tape DA uses. I'm looking for a source and any tips for replacement would be helpful.

BTW, I have a hand drawn schematic that I got from the factory service department if anyone needs one. When I got the speakers I couldn't figure out how to biamp them. Turns out the cross overs were wired different and both wired wrong. They worked for single amp but not bi amp.
 
I just purchased a set of these and I am very excited to hear them. Somebody replaced the original mid-range speakers with pile mid-ranges. Looking for a original set of replacements. I could use a copy of the schematic if you don't mind? Thank you
