Detached magnet - simply re-glue?

Newbie question: The magnet has come off on one side of my Samson SR850 (very similar to Superlux HD668B). Can I simply re-attach it with glue, or is there more to it than that? Is there something else I should check? And if glue, any kind? Super glue? (When I try just placing it and holding the cans sideways so it stays in place, I'm not getting any signal on that side -- is that a sign of deeper trouble, or does it need to be affixed before it will work?)

Thanks

you may want to wait for someone to respond who's familiar with your exact drivers, or post pictures so people who have done this before can comment, but as a general comment, it is not working because the voice coil is likely bound up. You will need to center the VC while gluing the magnet back on, and how you do that is going to be dependent on the specifics of your driver.

Have you inquired as to the cost of a replacement driver? I just looked up these phones and they don't appear to be that expensive as a complete assembly, so that may be what needs to happen here.

Thanks for the response. The best I can do at the moment is upload a frame from a youtube clip I found on the Superlux. The Samson looks just like this. In mine the magnet has come completely detached.headphone magnet.jpg
