It's been a while since I checked, but $250 seems like the going rate w/o shipping and that could add another $100-$200 easy so he's way LESS than eBay.

If you're jonesing for a set of HPM 100s these could be worth a look.

Agreed Andy...this is below what the going rate has been for more than several years. Well, since AK essentially made these a "legendary" speaker (sigh)...I am as happy as as anyone to get a good deal but must admit that it gets tiring reading complaints on gear pricing. Why does everything have to be a 5 dollar thrift store/Yard Sale item to worthy of a purchase? That is lame IMO....:thumbsdn:

I agree. But of course I sell frequently. And $250 is not hard to get for these in nice shape.
If you want a deal better get out there and pound the pavement.

Many don't care. I go in my local record shop and am always amazed at the great stuff people sell to them for nothing.

New large advents have also gone up a lot. I bought a nice pair for $40, sold them for $60, about a year ago. Last pair on ebay sold for $199.

Actually we here at AK do all the homework.....AK has forever changed that landscape. All of the score threads and bragging about how little we paid for this or that is the real culprit. I do remember when it was easy to stockpile gear for next to nothing...:yes: but it has been a few years since it was easy to do that. Anymore, I just buy less and higher quality, and never try to make money on what I sell. The "deals" are still out there, you just have to dig deeper, and expect way less. It's the sense of entitlement that gets under my skin. :sigh:

To me its not about the piles of audio crap but the stuff that I actually like to use. I have been trying to work myself in the position of taking on a more diy role. The parts are expensive, the gratification much greater than 1 1/2 pages of that a boy in d & s..
