Detroit/Toledo La Scala Alert

A very nice looking pair of Klipsch La Scalas will be auctioned off Saturday Nov 9. The auction is by Sundance Auction. It will be in Monroe starting at 9am.

DO NOT search by "Klipsch" or "La Scala" as they have butchered the spelling.

Looks like they're going to tear the place down, so everything is up for grabs.

Sorry, Stemp, I had to share (since I could not get there).
Really wanted a pair. Have these DH 1012s that might improve them.
Oh,well, good luck to all AK bidders

Well, Andyman, it is out on AK.
this takes it all back to the value/worth thread. I think the old von Neuman business theory would lead me to believe information brings things closer to true value. Of course, that means no score. Still better than an estate sale marking everything at BIN prices found on uPay.

Since you couldn't go. Hmmmm :scratch2: Would you post it if you were?

I understand about posting heads up about CL items, they will be gone in minutes.

What I never could understand is posting auctions and ES in advance of the sale just because "I couldn't make it". It only drives prices up for those that can make it.

But that's just me I guess...

No worries.

Yep, because you put it there.

I don't post stuff as a courtesy to others around here until after the sale has opened, the listing has run a bit, or I've been there and passed on the items. That way I figure the guys who did the digging and homework have had their shot at it and I'm not sounding the alarm on something they've got their eye on. These are one shot deals and when they're gone, they're gone. One winner, and a bunch of losers; they're aren't more in the back.

I go to a lot of auctions and the last thing a bidder wants is more bidders running the price up, AK buddies or not...

Perhaps someday someone will let the world know about something you have your eye on and this will make more sense.

what if they held an auction and no one came. Or, if no AKer had heard about it?
Couple months back I texted a guy who buys highend stuff at auctions. The pix showed some Carver Sunfire amps and a set of Infinity Renaissance 90s. Those are things I felt I could not afford at the time, so I passed it along.
I called the auction to bid on a shelf, and wound up with amp and speakers in addition to the shelf for a grand. A score.
It was obvious no one had done the work. It was possible no one found this new auction due to the mis-spelling.
Will I keep a secret if something I just must have becomes available...yeah. And I won't lose any sleep as I seem to not be alone. Just as I will sleep soundly when one AKer outbids another.

Any idea what the La Scala's sold for ?
Just curious what the sell for at an average auction.

Duh, I just realized they auction doesn't start till Saturday....

So, did anybody go??

FWIW, I picked up a nice Dual 1225 in custom base with a Audio Technica AT100E cartidge last night at auction as I was the only bidder. I jumped in at $10, but probably could have waited for $5.

$10 was a steal regardless,as the case is really neat.
