I swapped some old leftover hardwood in my shop for a 120 tuner. Its in very nice shape but the tip of the pointer that illuminates is snapped off. I have a replacement pointer from a receiver carcass, but looking at the pointer on the 120 there is what looks like factory red colored glue holding the pointer in place on the dial string. Is there any trick to getting the old pointer removed without damaging the string? I know the 120 isn't that great but it really didn't cost me anything but some leftover wood from a job several years back.
