I have acquired a pair of Diatone speakers and the cloth surround are still supple, but starting to show-case signs of stiffening up. I have read that particularly speakers of the Diatone brand name require an "oil" treatment every so often in order to keep the surrounds nice and smooth as the surrounds were originally treated / saturated with some sort of fluid upon leaving the factory.
I have tried to acquire this "oil" from Yahoo Auction Japan, but the sellers are not allowed to ship any kind of fluid outside of the country. Is there any Japanese members that could help me with the purchase / shipment of this fluid or does anybody have similar experiences with cloth surrounds and a solution at hand?
I'd appreciate any input on the matter.
