There's a "Best of the Midnight Special-on DVD" Infomercial on late nights that I like to watch. It looks pretty cool with the performers and comedians of the 1970's-back in their heyday....I find I'm drawn to all those infomercials hawking DVDs or CD box sets-not that I've bought any-I just like the old video clips of musicians of the pre-MTV era that performed on shows like "The Smothers Brothers" or "Dick Cavett" and enjoying the great old music while goofing on the hair styles and the clothes that people wore back then!

I used to prefer ABC's In Concert to Midnight Special. It was simulcast in stereo on the AOR affiliate here, and I remember tuning it in on the big Philco console to get the better sound...
