Hey gang!
I let my bid run out for a set of Sonus Faber Parva Mk1 speakers, with stands, but needing a complete restoration. The bidding ended at $355 + $55 shipping. There's not much info on these speakers, but I really was intrigued about the importance they had in the beginning years of Sonus Faber.
I can't help but wonder, did I let something significant slip between my fingers? Or should I feel OK that I didn't win these "unobtanium" "trophy" speakers.
From the research I have gathered, the speakers use a first order (6db) capacitor-less crossover where the tweeter is actually a modified KEF T52B tweeter with a lower Fs and allowed to roll off naturally to almost 800Hz.
I don't know exactly what the woofer was. Some sites claim it's a custom-built Focal, others say it was designed by B&W for Sonus Faber. It's a Kevlar cone with phase plug so either is plausible just by the construction.
Anyway... I'm curious if I played this too conservatively. Maybe I should have just bid the moon to get a piece of Speaker History in my workshop....
Thoughts?
