Some 15 years ago I was a big fan of Hot Wheels. I had an entire box container full of hot wheels and matchbox cars, and quite a few hot wheels tracks. I know there's a few pics of me playing with them floating around somewhere... eventually they got donated once we moved in 2013/2014 and downsized. By that point I wasn't really into hot wheels anymore, but there were a couple I'd kinda regret not keeping, one in particular being a (matchbox?) two-tone green '67 mustang fastback being my most memorable one.
Nowadays diecast cars are the new "hot wheels" to me, and I'm slowly but surely building a collection of them. I have noticed I'm very picky with the quality and attention to detail of the diecast cars that I look at, particularly if the car has functional suspension/steering and if the lights have visible spots (circles) in the middle where they've been molded in place.
So far I've acquired a 1:18 scale 1937 Lincoln Zephyr (not pictured, by Precision Collection 100) that has seen better days, two 1:26 scale Maisto dodge ram pickups (one black and one blue w/stripes), one 1969 Ford mustang boss 302 (1:18 scale by Die-cast Promotions), and just today I picked up a 1952 Hudson Hornet 1:18 scale (made by Highway 61) for $18!! In really good condition too. Nice and shiny.
