Digital coax cable from cd player to DAC question

[captinzander]

I have a digital coax connection on the back of my Harman kardon CDR2 and want to connect it to my external DAC. Do i need a special cable? Or can one of my RCA cables do the job? It sure looks like a regular rca plug.. Thanks!

Ideally you'd use a "75 ohm" cable. If you have any old RCA-plug composite or component video cables laying around those should be 75-ohm cable.

A meter or so is good I'd stay away from a 12 footer.

For a typical three foot or so run, damn near anything will work just fine.
