Dim Stereo light on Marantz 2220B

I recently picked up a Marantz 2220B at a price I could live, 100.00 and I've wanted one a Marantz so I went for it. Every light on it was out so I ordered an LED light kit from Bob at www.vintage-electronics.net The install went fine and all the lights are all working but the Stereo light is really dim. It dose pulse and adjust as I move the dial. So I think it's working correctly and it just seems the power output is to low.

I emailed Bob, who sells the LED's and he's sending a new light said it could be the power supply as well.

So I checked and wiggled the connections, everything looks good. When I installed the light I spliced into the old wires rather then going to the board but the soldering all looks good. a

I'm looking for some guidance on how to test if I'm getting proper voltage. The tuner seems to be working fine and we have some strong stations in my area, South NJ just outside Philly.

What value series resistor did you use?
The voltage to the stereo light is usually DC compared to the rest of the indicator lamps which are fed with AC.
On some Marantz units there's 2 stereo lamps next to each other.
Some stereo lamps are 12 vdc depending on the particular receiver.
Check your voltage and report back.

Thanks Bob,

I will check the voltage when I get home and report back but it looks to me like the power to the stereo is feed by the same used for the dial indicator and that is working fine.

Just got home to take the reading. If I'm reading the service manual for the 2220B I should be getting 7.4v when light is on it's brightest. I'm getting about 3.4-4.1v depending on how its tuned. . . any thoughts
