Diode basic questions

[EC1]

Working on the power amp board PB-1062 of a Luxman R1050, running to these 2 Diodes. The plan was to replace all electrolytic caps and some troublesome transistors on this board but read it somewhere that these 2 diodes to be replaced as well.

1. D101a/b, part listed as "WZ-120 zener", is this the proper replacement? 12v, 1/2w zener diode?

2. D102a/b, part listed as "VD1221 varister", read a pair of 1N4148 in series to replace it. Found some but do not know what is better?

Can someone help and confirm? still learning here and have not bought and replaced any diode yet.

The Zener replacement and VD1221 replacement you mentioned are looking perfect to me!

@sanjib, Thanks for your fast response, so either 1N4148 will work?

For VD1221 you have to solder cathode end one to the anode end of the other one. Then you will install it.

these 2, one is called "general purpose", one is called "fast signal", which one is better or both will work, does not matter?

Both will work but I prefer On-Semi one!
