Just took the opportunity to do some retuning my system by disabling room correction, using the PEQ function in my subwoofers’ DSPs to get them as flat as I could, and then recalibrating DIRAC Live. I figured I would share my before (without DIRAC Live) and after (with DIRAC Live) sweeps taken from HouseCurve so that people wondering if it works well can see the results. All measurements including calibration were taken using a UMIK-1. For the DIRAC calibration, I used focused listening spot setting and swept five points (MLP, and the four surrounding spots higher than the MLP, did not do lower as my MLP is on a floor chair in front of my couch, so either I’m down on the floor chair or I’m a bit higher up and back on the couch). The HouseCurve sweeps were recorded with the mic 3.5” left of center for left channel, 3.5” right of center for right channel, and dead center for combined. Crossover is 160Hz (stereo, symmetrically placed SVS 3000 Micros relieving bass from KEF LS50 Metas), with a 30dB/Octave slope. Bass management is handled by Luxsin X9, so the miniDSP Flex (digital I/O version) which is handling DIRAC Live processing is upstream and, “sees,” just two full-range speakers, not an actual 2.2 setup. I prefer the analog volume control of the X9 over the digital volume control in the source (WiiM Ultra) and the miniDSP.
