Not home theatre so much, but I have a pair of Behringer MS16 studio monitors for my PC setup.
The right hand speaker has developed a distinct crackling sounds whenever turned on.
They're externally powered (NZ, 240v 50hz), and the right speaker only makes this noise whenever turned on. Even if there's no input, regardless of the volume setting, this noise will persist. Additionally, if I plug headphones into the speakers, the crackling goes through the headphones (right side only).
I've tried different power outlets around the house, but no change.
Any ideas what's going on? Have you experienced a similar issue?
Recorded onto my phone here (M4a file):
