It is incredibly easy to clip a 30 watt amp with his speaker. Which is why I use ten times that with my New Advents.

Agreed.. not enough info to make a logical conclusion for the cause.. or source.

Basic troubleshoot: Replace with a known good amp, start at moderate levels, individual channels L.. then R.. then both and same with "B" if you have that (which could be an issue if you don't ).

You are bound to isolate and then eliminate all other conclusions regarding the "source of the problem".

Every time I start to get louder I hear some distortion (at least I think definitely some fuzziness for the lack of a better word) from my speakers. I’ve got a Marantz 2230 and KLH 6s. I had the same problem with a previous receiver making me think it’s the speakers. Are they being over powered or is it a repair type situation? I’m pretty new to all this so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If it starts sounding distorted turn it down. Most of the time when damage is done to a speaker it is because the amplifier or receiver does not have enough power to drive them properly and it starts to clip the wave form. I don't believe I can ever recall harming a speaker from too much power, however I have burned up speakers from clipping in my younger days.
