DIY Audio question...

Hope this question is allowed,,, When I try to log on to the DIYAudio site, my computer locks up,,, I'm running Firefox, if it matters... Its been doing it for quite a while, started out slow to load, now, I can't get on to ask about it there.... The last time I tried, I got "security" warning,,, No other site I use does that,,,

I am hoping one of you may also belong there, and can ask for me...

Regards,
John

I'm also a member there. I just logged in, no problem.

What version of FF? Do you have anti-virus software running? Try shutting it down, then log on. Same results?

tried shutting down Avast, and loading diyAudio,, computer froze, (error message "firefox not responding"),, had to disconnect from power to restart...

FF sometimes screws the pooch with auto updates. I've set mine not to.

Sometimes newer isn't better. :D

+1.... Can't think of a instance where newer is better!!!

I'll change it back to "update when I want to",,, works on my Old computer....

Thanks again for teh help...

Locks up on this PC as well (but not at work, also XP and FF 26). And since FF reopens the same pages after crashing, it locks up AGAIN when you restart it. Have to open FF in safe mode (hold shift when starting).

I had that happen also, reopening the pages over again, then freezing... Had to pull the power to shut it down, (no battery in this one)...
I'm running XP on this old laptop,,, I messed with it quite a while, and went into FF this morning and there is a "return to default" button, which ended the problem...Try this, if you haven't already, when the computer restarts, all is well, so far....
This only happened on that website!!! Made it hard to diagnose, as I thought the problem was the website... My guess is the updates added conflicting options....

Hope this helps...

John
