Dn 242e discontinued! Alternative styli?

Hi

I love my TKS 242e. Unfortunately, the stylus for this guy (the dn242e) has been discontinued. Though generic replacements are plentiful, they sound nowhere near as good as the original (in my experience so far). Do any other styli fit this cart. Seeing as the Dn 242e was made for Dual by Audio Technica, I was wondering if any AT styli might fit? I'm looking at the AT95e and it looks like a similar shape to the 242e. Any suggestions would be very welcome. The 2 generic replacements I just bought really lack the depth of the original stylus and knowing how good my 505 can sound with the 242e, these replacements are very disappointing.....

As far as I'm aware the Dual community over here hasn't been able to find a directly compatible AT needle yet. However, if you have a hand for fine mechanics, the cantilever assembly of the DN241/242 is screw fixed to the plastic holder like in many other AT dual/v magnet MM needles - so you could still transplant the complete cantilever assembly of another AT needle to the plastic holder of the DN241/242.

I don't know if I have a fine hand for mechanics yet I suppose you can't recommend a guide I might find online outlining this process. Doesn't sound easy, but it might be worth a try.
