Do I need extra weights?

I got my new Denon DL-160 installed on my Pioneer PL-600 (70s version). The tonearm is balanced with the cartridge and headshell but my counter weight had to be screwed in almost all the way.

Should I add some extra weights to my headshell?

My headshell doesn't have any threads for weights though.

Any ideas here would be greatly appreciated. :)

Thanks!

First off that's not the original head shell which isn't really a problem but in this case it is.
I'd add some weight to the top of the head shell and then rebalance the arm.

Yep, this is definitely not the original headshell. It weighs 11 grams which is close to what I thought what the original weighed.

How much weight should I add? Are there any weights that don't screw into the headshell but have some sort of adhesive instead?

That headshell looks like plastic...is it? It also looks cracked across the middle. I'd suggest replacing it with a good quality one.

I have that same shell which works fine for light cartridges. If the crack in your shell isn't to bad you might be able to use the 3 gram weight KAB sells. Or Just get a new headshell.

KAB carries both Stanton H4 and Technics SL1200 headshells.
[The Spacer is a must when running Stanton 500's on SL-1200's to get proper height setting and for tracking over 4 grams]

MODEL COLOR PRICE CONTACTS XTRA WEIGHTS
STANTON H4 SILVER $9.95 NICKEL 2 & 4 GRAM
NUMARK HS-1 SILVER $9.95 GOLD
TECHNICS SL1200 BLACK $22.00 GOLD NONE
TECHNICS M5G SILVER $32.00 GOLD 4 GRAM
TECHNICS GLD GOLD $59.95 GOLD 4 GRAM
--------------------------------------------------------
CARDAS HSPCC-E HEADSHELL WIRES $38.00
TECHNICS HEADSHELL WIRES $ 4.95
3 GRAM SPACER/WEIGHT $ 3.50
TECHNICS HARDWARE $ 6.50
STANTON HARDWARE $ 1.00

It seems to me using a light headshell with a light cartridge is compounding the potential problem. If it's cracked, it seems like there would be considerable energy lost in not holding the cartridge body rigidly while the stylus is moving.
