Do Members Think That There Will Ever Be Budget Record Labels Again

Having just read a thread about a being able to get a new copy of "Coda" by Led Zep for 7.99 ....it made me start to remember the budget reissue labels of the past and I wondered if people thought that new budget labels would start to spring up again? ......or are there some and I've not seen them yet?

I doubt it can happen now, it's hard enough for them to keep up pressing at a quality level. The presses that are around are far to expensive to buy and restore.

However we do really have "Budget Record Labels" $17-$19, imports, Czech Republic.

And if they start releasing various artists albums like K-Tel did, would they be known as Czech mix?

I have been buying new reissues of quality records from an Amazon vendor. I have picked up most of the 2015 Bob Marley reissues (mastered by Capitol) for about $11 each in the door. All have had great SQ.

Got two Fleetwood Mac's today for less than $11 each in the door. On Amazon click on vinyl and select "new from" and there are several vendors having a price war on many items. Look around. I get mine from ImportCD's. Fast shipment, great packaging and not a lemon yet. (wood being knocked) The Fleetwood Mac's were cut by Chris Bellman.

Half the records that are released now should be budget priced do to quality control, crappy vinyl, noise, of center pressings etc.

Budget labels now? Doubtful. Way too many licensing hoopes to jump through these days.

The last time I bought a vinyl recording I think the going rate was around $5-6 bucks and a double LP was around 10-12 bucks. It's been awhile...
