Do new tube amps have an odor?

In general, tube equipment does not smell much at all. There may be dust on tubes haven't been run in a while, and that may give a slight burnt smell when the tubes heat up to running temperature, and even if that's cleaned off, there may be a very slight smell at operating temperature, but nothing you would NOTICE as smelling, unless there was something faulty and overheating.

But I did see this thread recently on tube equipment that smells:

I picked up a couple dynaco pieces in the last few months. My first foray into tube music at home since I was a kid and dad built a Heathkit. Anyway, the smell that came from my Dynaco stuff brought back to my time time fixing tube stuff back in the mid 70's. I knew what that smell was right away. Tubes. joy....

Hi my tube amp had a slight odor to it for about the first 2 or 3 weeks. Now, none.

Once I bought a new all-SS amplifier and that had a bit of an electronics odor at first too. Again, it went away after some time.
